The Quran the sacred book of Islam, was desecrated in Stockholm,Sweden. Sweden has been widely condemned for allowing the burning of the Muslim holy book outside a mosque on Wednesday during EId-ul-Adha, a major Islamic holiday. These Anti-Islam protests in Sweden have sparked outrage in the entire Muslim world.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that although the desecration of the Holy Quran was not seen as a crime in some countries, it was penalised in Russia.

Putin said: “In our country, this is a crime both according to the Constitution and the penal code. we will always abide by these rules”

President Vladimir Putin was gifted a copy of the Quran during his visit to the Juma Mosque of Derbent in Dagestan, known as the oldest mosque in Russia, on the first day of Eid-ul-Adha.

“The Quran is sacred for Muslims and should be sacred for others,” he said as he thanked the representatives for the gift.

He expressed his gratitude, emphasizing the sacredness of the Quran for Muslims and the commitment to respecting its sanctity.

Putin’s statement followed an incident in which a man desecrated and set fire to pages of the Holy Quran outside a mosque in Stockholm. Later he was charged with agitation against an ethnic or national group by Swedish police.
