Our beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) loved his Ummah immensely and was very kind and compassionate to his followers. Therefore, because of his being empathetic and merciful, he was ever eager to save his Ummah from any future difficulty and hardship. And what could be more unbearable for his Ummah than watching an infidel like Mirza Ghulam Qadiani claiming himself as a  prophet and promoting the concept that Islam is imperfect, permitting it to be altered, abrogating Jihad and believing in erroneous principles, and watching people accepting his claims and running blindly after him?

Hazrat Maulana Anwar Shah Kashmiri was one of the most significant scholars and an ardent defender of the Finality of Prophethood.  He declared the cult of Mirza Qadiani a terrible tribulation of our times. He urged the Muslims, again and again, to counter this mischief, telling them that this noble pursuit amounts to Jihad, and he gave glad tidings of Paradise to those who guard the Finality of Prophethood.

Similarly, when Peer Meher Ali Shah Golra decided to migrate and spend the rest of his life in Madina, the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) appeared in his dream and commanded him to thoroughly refute Mirza of Qadian, who was “ripping apart the sacred Ahadith through his perverted misinterpretations.” (See ‘Malfuzat-e-Mihriya’ for details)

We all know the virtue of dying in Madinah: the Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said:

“Whoever is able to die in Madinah, let him die there, for I will intercede for those who die there.”

(Tirmidhi, Vol. 1, Book 46, Hadith 3917)

What could be better than the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) interceding for one on the Day of Judgement? This incident, however, shows that protecting the Finality of Prophethood is even greater than dying in Madinah, otherwise, the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) would not have asked Peer Sahab to do so.

Peer Sahab followed this call. He stood up against Mirza Ghulam and defeated him on every level. (There had been many debates, none of which Mirza could even get close to proving his point.)

This service is one of the greatest deeds a human being can perform. In fact, it is so great that Hadhrat Umar radiallahu anhu declared that one night and one day in Hadhrat Abu Bakr’s radiallahu anhu life was better than all the good deeds Hadhrat Umar radiallahu anhu had performed throughout his life. By the night, he alluded to the night Hadhrat Abu Bakr Siddiq radiallahu anhu had spent with the Holy Prophet in the Cave of Thaur, whereas by the day, he referred to the day on which Hadhrat Abu Bakr radiallahu anhu declared war against the heretics, including Musailmah Kazzab of Yamamah.

(Mustadrak Hakim, Hadith number 4268)

Protecting the Finality of Prophethood is a service that amounts to serving the blessed person of Rasoolullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) …  and what could be a greater honor than serving as a personal guard of Allah’s Most Beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam)
