Recently, I was scrolling my feed and found the pictures of a grave been called the sacred chamber of Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). My heart filled with warmth, my eyes filled with tears, I got goosebumps and I felt so honored to behold the pious chamber of Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). All of a sudden, I was struck by the thought that nobody is permitted to access that inner chamber so how these pictures are taken.
Isn’t it shocking!!!!!!
Furthermore, I thought that if this is the sepulcher of Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam), then why this is the only one?! There should be three as Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) is buried in the Sacred Chamber along with two of his most faithful companions and the first two caliphs of Islam, Abu Bakr al-Siddiq R.A and Umar ibn al-Khattab R.A.
After that, I comprehended that these pictures are inauthentic and unreliable, and just for stardom many people share them without adequate knowledge.
Further, I researched for more details, that what is inside the green dome and the inner chamber. I learned that the place where Hazrat Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) is resting is actually the Hujra (house) of Hazrat Ayesha Siddiqa (R.A). It also includes the grave of two companions of Hazrat Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). The hujra is covered by five high walls, constructed in 709 AD on orders of Hazrat Umar Bin Abdul Aziz. This pentagonal wall has no door or windows. Then the chamber is completely sealed within this covering wall and is inaccessible to anyone. That clearly states that it is never opened for any prince or minister. Although everyone is allowed to visit Raudha Shareef from outside.
Billions of pilgrims every year visit there to personify their love and respect and to send the blessings on the messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam).
As Hazrat Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) himself said:
“If anyone invokes a blessing on me once, God will grant him ten blessings, ten sins will be remitted from him, and he will be raised ten degrees”.
(Mishkat al-Masabih 922).
May Allah give all of us a chance to visit this holy place. Aameen
