The land of Palestine is sacred for all Muslims around the world. Its love is ingrained in our hearts. The events that took place there in the past and those which will occur in the future (In sha Allah) make the city of Al-Quds (the city where Masjid Al-Aqsa is located) very important.

Our kids must know the significance of this place but if they don’t then it is our responsibility to inform them.

‘Bait ul Muqaddas’ the holy mosque in Palestine was later named Masjid Al-Aqsa after the revelation in the Quran. Masjid Al-Aqsa was the first Qibla of the Muslims.

The sacred place harbors many amazing memories of our beloved prophets. Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) who was a very close friend of Allah, migrated to Palestine. He was accompanied on his journey by his nephew, Hazrat Lut (A.S) who was commanded to leave his nation (Qaum-e-Lut) who were then punished and destroyed by Allah (SWT) because of their evils practices.

Palestine was also the center of the most extensive kingdom in the history of mankind, governed by Prophet Hazrat Suleman (A.S). The famous ‘incident of the ants’, mentioned in the Quran, also took place in the valley of Asqalan which is a city in Palestine. The ant told her community to go inside their colonies otherwise the army of Hazrat Suleman would trample them. The valley was named “The Valley of Ants” after this incident.

In addition to it, the archway of Hazrat Zakariya (A.S) is also present in Palestine.

The Quran tells us that Palestine is also the noble place that Hazrat Musa (A.S) ordered his followers to enter because entering this city was an expiation of their sins.

Palestine is the place where Hazrat Maryam and her son Hazrat ‘Isa (A.S) were born. Hazrat ‘Isa (alaihissalam) was raised to the skies from here when the Jews were plotting against him. He will kill Dajjal at Bab-e-Lud in this country after his descent near the end of the world.

The incident of Taloot and Jaloot also took place in Palestine.

Furthermore, while leaving for Ascension (Isra-wal-Mairaaj) our beloved prophet Rasoolullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) came to Palestine and led the prayer of all the prophets in Masjid Al-Aqsa.

The reality of Hazrat Abu Bakar (R.A) sending an army to Palestine cannot be denied. Hazrat Umer (R.A), the second caliph also came himself to Palestine and acquired victory.

To protect the nobility of Masjid Al-Aqsa, many companions of Rasulullah  (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) sacrificed their lives, and countless Muslims are still doing so against the cruel occupation of Israel. All these incidents should have great importance in our hearts. We are the ones who have to take part in the freedom of Palestine. If we don’t take care of the honor of Palestine, Muslims will lose their respect and honor. Remember Allah does not need our efforts, it is we who have to earn salvation by struggling in the cause of Islam.

May Allah unite Ummat-e-Muslimah and bless us with the strength of Eman and with the power of resources to fight and regain the freedom of our first Qibla, the blessed land of our prophets. Aameen.
