The Pakistan high commission in London organised a contract signing ceremony for the transfer of PNS Tariq to the Britain. Donation of PNS Tariq is an act of generosity by Pakistan. FOCI plans to convert this stunning and robust vessell into a museum at Glasgow’s River.

PNS Tariq is Pakistan’s last Type-21 navy ship . It was purchased by Pakistan from Royal Navy, it was formerly known by the name of HMS Ambuscade .

In Karachi on August 4 decommissioning ceremony for this ship took place. Mr. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Pakistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs commended it for providing services to the country for more than 30 years. This ceremony was organised to acknowledge remarkable services of this vessel. This vessel saved life of 377 tourist in Maldives who were stuck in Indian Ocean Tsunami.

Mohammad Amjad Khan Niazi was the chief guest and Mr Admiral Lord Allen West was Guest of honour in the transferring ceremony. Among other guests were Mr David’O’Neil, director , FOCI , veterans of Royal navy and members of Pakistani community in the UK.
According to Mr Niazi , Pakistan’s kindness demonstrates the close relationship between both Nations’ fleet and strength of their friendship. According to him this endeavor would be a great gift for veterans who provided their services on this magnificent vessel and it would be a source of pride for them to look back at it and remembering all the tales of their valour.
